perl : make install to different directory

You can install perl under a different destination directory by using the DESTDIR variable during make install, with a command like

make install DESTDIR=/tmp/perl5

 

r91044@linux15:/home/master/91/r91044/dataManip/DateManip-5.44> make install DESTDIR=/home/master/91/r91044/perl
Installing /home/master/91/r91044/perl/usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8/Date/Manip.pm
Installing /home/master/91/r91044/perl/usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8/Date/Manip.pod
Installing /home/master/91/r91044/perl/usr/local/man/man3/Date::Manip.3pm
Writing /home/master/91/r91044/perl/usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8/auto/Date/Manip/.packlist
Appending installation info to /home/master/91/r91044/perl/usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8/perllocal.pod
